Last night
TVP line up on the night - Dan, Texas Bob, Stickymoan and Kev Mann - plus guests.....
TVPs had no guest list. Kevin Mann, sticksman extraordinaire and my ATV chum, bought a tkt at the last minute so that I could duly reimburse him. Went backstage - Dan was in good spirits.
The set was approximately 40 minutes, and it was - eventful.
Some great versions of Three Wishes. Look Back In Anger, Silly Girl etc. All as going great until Alan Wass (Lefthand) took the stage as an invited guest.
His less than sober state ensured that he outstayed his welcome with inane shouts of "Kinky Reggae" and ended up with him monopolising the lead vocals - to choruses of boos and "OFF OFF OFF" from the audience.
A while went past and Dan lost his rag. "Get this f---ing c--t off stage!"
Alan wouldn't go.
6 blokes - three staff and three bouncers - manhandled him off stage- Arms and legs were flying everywhere! Those of us at the side of the stage had to move quick!
The soundman signalled for Dan to play one more song. Going straight into an improvised version of "All Tomorrow's Parties" he decided to sing it as a duet - with yours truly! This calmed the crowd somewhat!
Here's the twist - Alan Wass was scheduled to be the next act!
He staggered on stage to deafening boos!
He apologised and said that his behaviour was disgraceful - played one barely coherent song and left the stage.
Left the venue with Kev Mann at around 11:15 - by which time Pete Doherty still hadn't arrived at the venue. Wonder if he did at all.....

Here's footage of the stage intruder.
I would have chinned him if I was Dan

"The stage intruder"
A few things the NME got wrong
There were 6 people that bundled him off - 3 staff and 3 bouncers
He was not an intruder - he was invited on - but he outstayed his welcome
What was even funnier was that he was the next act on! The chorus of boos that greeted him was legendary!

That puts a different complexion on the matter. Still funny though.leefact25 wrote:He was not an intruder - he was invited on - but he outstayed his welcome
Re: Last night
+ La Grande Illusion.... and a reggae-flavoured version of Picture Of Dorian Gray! A brief snippet of a new song, 'She Deserves A Halo', slipped in somewhere near the end...leefact25 wrote:Some great versions of Three Wishes. Look Back In Anger, Silly Girl etc.
