Television Personalities @ 12 Bar London this Saturday

Post by Keg » Fri May 18, 2007 12:57 am

Dan tells me that Television Personalities will be appearing as the last band on this Saturday at the 12 Bar Club, Denmark Street, London WC2. It's the second and final day of the club's AntifolkUK spring festival. Dan reckons they'll be on around midnight... and they'll be new songs.

The nearest tube is Tottenham Court Road Station.

Post by leefact25 » Fri May 18, 2007 1:38 pm

The drummer on the night will be Kevin Mann

He currently drums in ATV with me - and also has appeared in The Creation

I know he's playing 'cos he told me

Can't make it I'm afraid

kevin Mann's account of the 12 Bar gig

See if you can make head or tail of this.....Lee

From Kevin Mann.....

Television Personalities Anti Folk Festival at the 12 Bar Club
***************************
The Anti Folk festival was concluded by the arrival of the TVPs.
The night was late when the TVPs took to the stage 2am in fact but there were sufficient numbers to witness a Dan Treacy special

The set was some thing like this . . . . from memory
"Your my Yoko"
"Painter Man" cover ( The Creation )
"Part time Punks"
"If you dont want me"
"Fancy we never married"
plus more

"Dan Treacy" to a member of the audience "What are you looking at ?"
Exactly ... . .what were the crowd looking at ?
Well they were looking at a band that could move in any direction at any point during the set or song and did
They were looking at 4 musicians (Dep Drummer Kev Mann [The Creation , Alternative TV]) moving like an Oil slick in the Sea of Dan Treacy
Line up:
Vocals Guitar: Dan Treacy
Lead Guitar: Texas Bob
Bass: Mike Sticky
Drums: Kev Mann

audience highly entertained by Dan's Show ..giggling comments involvement
Dan stated he will sit down for the whole gig COZ that was Anti Folk

Good gig I think the drummer thing was a total change to John Bennett's quintessential TVP rhythms. Kev Mann was Very powerfull at times then delicate Interesting. .. .

A good gig and I hope to see the guys again at some shows soon
Gothenburg 7th July ...maybe too far to travel though"

Wow - wot a set list!
Now, the next logical question is: Who's got a recording of it??
