I'm currently listening to The Journey by Amsterdam. It's a great album and I was a big fan of Ian Prowse's previous band Pele.

Funnily enough there is a TVP version of "Whatever gets you through the night" on an early 90s cover EP, if my memory serves me well, so you might want to check that out...

Just thought I'd contribute to the thread...
And a song called "whatever brings you through the night" Elton John/John Lennon Live. :) It is an old east german 7'' full of scratches - it sounds like an itchy and scratchy MinimalTechno Track back in 1993, live in the mix. Spongebob Soundhead.

Yes, it is funny! I first heard this song on the little teddy "Fashion..." - it is one of my favorits. 2 weeks ago I found a (live) version from Lennon/John on a 3 track 7''. I never saw this on cd.

Persil - Comfort Music

I saw them live last night in Lancaster and bought the new LP there. Great as always. I love this band. They should be massive.

You might want to check out 6 Billion People when it comes out - the nearest Amelia's come to sounding like TG since the 80s

Early Violent Femmes have been making heavy rotations in my player recently, along with the monthly offerings from Bishop Allen, the last one from Frank Black and of course the TVPS!~

i like that album. not as good as "vauxhall and i", but it has good songs.
especially "we'll let you know" and "national front disco" are great.
(i know it's provocative to choose those two, but, yeah they are my favorites from this album)
