Re: Bands doing TVP covers

Tindersticks have covered "You'll Have To Scream Louder" on their new LP of covers. I like their version.

The Contours - Dance With The Contours (Kent Records)

Issued in 2011. Contains 24 previously unreleased tracks recorded for Motown in 1963-64. Nice.

Re: What are you reading?

For Christmas 2014 I read Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". This began a tradition of reading Dickens at Christmas. Over the following years I've devoured the following: "The Old Curiosity Shop" (2015), "The Pickwick Papers" (2016), "Bleak House" (2017) and for Christmas 2018, "David Copperfield...

TVPTribute Gig in Athens 16/03/2019

It would appear that there was a TVP tribute concert in Athens on Saturday, featuring - amongst others - former band members Jowe Head, Dave Musker and Lee McFadden. I knew nothing about this! There's some videos on youtube: dgZHUW7qb-8 t4qSyuvY-2A At0MtK8H1Ww R_Bktbjk7us G8M2-JZ9nuQ At0MtK8H1Ww dYL...

Jowe Head in Scotland February 2019

Jowe and The Teenage Filmstars (who might they be?) have two dates in Scotland in February, playing a set of TVP and Swell Maps songs, according to the flyers. Exciting!

Re: Whatisdoneisdone

If you browse down the list of topics in the Ed Ball discussion section you'll see quite a few references to new songs, a 7" and a new LP round about 2007/08. As far as I know everything seemed to get pulled from release and Ed disappeared from public view (but he was later confirmed as being ok). S...

Re: Gig chat

I had Nervous Twitch on at my Get Hip club night the other week. Below is a review that someone did of the night. Jay & Erin from Nervous Twitch are fans of the TVP's and will be at the Dan Treacy tribute gig next month. https://digthatgroove1.wordpress.com/2018/09/30/gig-review-60-nervous-twitch-g...

The Rude Mechanicals

Yes, there should have been an existing topic for the Mechanicals already... My friends from Germany, the Woog Riots, are coming to London next weekend for a one-off gig. The Rude Mechanicals are on the bill as well, which is as follows: Woolf Presents Summer Extravaganza: Pit Ponies Rude Mechanical...
